Sachin's Upset Tweet Irks Bangladesh Supporters

#BanvAus #TestSeries
#Ban beat #Aus by 20 Runs in First Test.

Bangladesh cricket fans are one of the most passionate supporters. The Tigers' fans have had a lot to cheer in the past one year with their team pulling off maiden wins over England, Sri Lanka and now Australia in Tests. Bangladesh also qualified for the semifinals of an ICC event for the first time in June's ICC Champions Trophy in England. Bangladesh scored a thrilling 20-run win over Australia in the first Test in Dhaka on Wednesday and the whole country broke into celebration.

Bangladeshi players were congratulated by past and present players on their historic achievement. Cricket legend and former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate the neighbors. However, Tendulkar's tweet terming the Bangladesh win as an 'upset' did not go down too well with a section of the fans who were quick to remind the Master Blaster that their team were no longer underdogs.

Bangladeshi fans have had a bitter relationship with the Indian players and supporters in the past. A Tigers fan had posted a photoshopped image of Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed carrying M.S. Dhoni's severed head ahead of the 2016 Asia Cup final. The image went viral and made Indian cricket fans angry. India went on to win the final in Dhaka with Dhoni smashing an unbeaten 20 off seven balls.

Bangladesh's current Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim had courted controversy after tweeting his delight at West Indies' win over India in the semifinal of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20.
Rahim later deleted the tweet.

CWC15 LIVE - NZ Narrowly Overcome Spirited Bangladesh

#NewZealand v #Bangladesh,
13th Mar 2015

New Zealand just about managed to hold their nerve against a highly spirited Bangladesh team in their Pool A match at #SeddonPark in #Hamilton to lead Pool A without losing a game. They take the full 12 points from this group.

Bangladesh, on the back of a stunning victory over England a few days ago, produced yet another gutsy display, first with the bat through a superb #Mahmudullah century and then followed it up with dogged discipline in their bowling ranks, to take the match right down to the wire.

For New Zealand, they faced a real stiff test before the knockouts and that will do them some real good. A tough game, some changes in personnel, a rare BrendonMcCullum failure and most importantly good batting practice for the middle and late order batsmen.

New Zealand will now face either of #Pakistan / #WestIndies / #Ireland (the fourth placed team in Pool B) at Westpac Stadium, Wellington

Bangladesh in all probability will now face defending champions #India (toppers in Pool B) at the #MCG.

All in all a cracker of a game.

#LIVE #Score
Bangladesh - 288 for 7
#Mahmudullah - 128*
#SowmyaSarkar - 51

New Zealand - 290 for 7 (48.5 overs)
#MartinGuptill - 105
#RossTaylor - 56

#ShakibAlHassan - 4 wickets

Man of the Match: Martin Guptill

CWC 2015 - Aus v Ban - Washout in Pool A

#Australia v #Bangladesh, #Woolongabba (#GABBA), #Brisbane
21st Feb 2015

Australia's fears have come true.
They were praying for a full match (atleast a 20 over reduced game) against #minnows Bangladesh to take full points and most importantly much needed #match #practice for their #bench players. However #rain #gods didn't relent and the match was #abandoned without a #ball being bowled.

Both teams take a point each from the game.

Bangladesh smiling long :)

They now have to challenge and beat one of the other biggies in the group and dream for a #quarterfinal spot in tournament! (Looking at the way #England are playing and #SriLanka not in good touch either ... they can really look to spring a surprise in Pool A.

Pool A looks exciting now

#NewZealand - 3 matches - 6 points
#Australia - 2 matches - 3 points
#Bangladesh - 2 matches - 3 points
#England - 2 matches - 0 points (to be fair to them - they have run into the two top contenders (NZ and Aus) for this year's world cup in their first two games itself!)
#SriLanka - 1 match - 0 points

Another upset or a washout can dramatically alter scenario in this Pool now.

The #Aus and #NZ game at #Auckland in few days time gains crucial importance for leaderboard position in the Pool.

CWC 2015 LIVE - Aus v Ban Match Delayed Due To Rain

#Australia v #Bangladesh, #GABBA, #Brisbane
21st Feb 2015

Bad news from the GABBA.
There is a #raindelay in this match.
Match may start in a while and we'll keep you posted.

If the match does get washed away, Bangladesh will be the happiest lot.
They will steal one point from Australia and make Pool A very interesting !
