The International Cricket Council (#ICC) has signed up #Intel as its "innovation partner" for the upcoming 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

The governing body is set to "collaborate with Intel to transform the cricket experience for fans, and help coaches and players improve performance".

Further details are set to emerge in the coming weeks surrounding the "specific innovations" that the two organisations will deploy at the tournament.

"This is an exciting announcement for the ICC as we continue to focus on innovation and technology to enhance both the game and the experience of the fan," said ICC chief executive, David Richardson.

"The innovations we're working with Intel on for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 are like nothing we've seen in the sport before and I'm delighted to welcome them to the ICC family."

The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled from June 1 to 18 in #England and #Wales. Matches at the competition are to be played at The #Oval in London, Sophia Gardens in #Cardiff and #Edgbaston in #Birmingham.

"#Cricket is the world's second most popular #Sport and as the official innovation partner of the #ICC Champions Trophy, we are excited to integrate Intel technology in this tournament," said James Carwana, general manager of the Intel Sports Group.

"We will be deploying a range of #Technology at the event as part of the our ongoing effort to bring a new level of #Data #Analytics to sports and to revolutionize how #Athletes #Train, #Coaches teach, scouts evaluate #Talent, and #Fans enjoy sports."

International #Cricket #Fans still have the chance to be a part of this summer's much-anticipated #ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales in June as 34,000 tickets for all 15 matches are set to go on sale on Wednesday.

Fans who entered the ballot last September, but were unsuccessful in their application, have access to a priority window 24 hours ahead of general sale, to ensure as many new fans as possible have the opportunity to purchase tickets and attend this summer's event.

An additional 34,000 tickets, including those selected for resale, will then be available from 12 pm Britain Standard Time on Wednesday. Demand for the 50-over event, which starts with hosts England against Bangladesh at The Oval on 1 June, has already surpassed sales at this point for Champions Trophy 2013.

The tickets for all matches – including popular fixtures India v Pakistan, England v Australia and the final – will be released on general sale to eager fans following handbacks from #Tournament #Stakeholders that includes #Sponsors, #ICC family and #Travel providers.

Fans also have the opportunity to #Sell any #Tickets they have purchased and no longer require through the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 resale service. So far, over 1,000 tickets have been posted on the website and will be available for other fans to buy. It is a safe and secure process which ensures that tickets are sold at face value to fellow fans.

Additional tickets have been made available for the five matches at #Edgbaston due to a temporary stand that will be installed ahead of the tournament. The extra 800 seats will boost the capacity of the #UK's biggest cricket venue outside of #London to help meet the high demand for matches.

Following the highly successful application and ballot process in September, when 417,000 people applied for tickets across 60 countries, tickets for the remaining games which had unsold seats have been on general sale with the final allocations now in the process of being released.
