CWC 2015 LIVE - Irfan And Riaz Put Pakistan On Top v Zim

#Pak v #Zim, #GABBA, #Brisbane
1st Mar 2015

#MohamadIrfan and #WahabRiaz have run through the Zimbabwe middle order and put Pakistan on top of their game v Zimbabwe.

Defending a modest target of 235, the seamers took advantage of the Gabba bounce under lights and choked the Zimbabwe batsmen in submission. #HamiltonMasakadza will also have to blame himself for playing a ridiculous shoot off Irfan to get himself out at a critical juncture in the game.

#LIVE #Cricket #Score: Zim 186 for 8 in 44 overs
Need another 50 runs in 36 balls. Looks close but the number of wickets down will put a lot of pressure on them. #EltonChigumbura and #DavidPanganyara at the crease. If they can string a partnership, the game can go down to the wire.

As it stands, Pak on top

CWC 2015 LIVE - Pak Score 235 For 7 v Zim

#Pak v #Zim, #GABBA, #Brisbane
1st March 2015

Owing to a very solid and patient 73 by #skipper #MisbahUlHaq and a rapid fire 54 by #WahabRiaz, Pakistan have scored a somewhat respectable 235 for 7 in their 50 overs. #UmarAkmal's 33 provided good support in building that score.

The Zimbabwe bowling and fielding were disciplined unlike their previous games where they went for plenty in the last few overs. Although they dropped a few chances at the end stages, they will be pretty happy with their overall performance to restrict Pak to that score. Chatara and Williams being their key wicket bowlers.

Will they chase it? Will all depend on their opening batsmen and how Pak bowlers defend that score!

CWC 2015 LIVE - Pak Losing Way v Zim

#Pakistan v #Zimbabwe, #GABBA, #Brisbane
1st Mar 2015

Pakistan are losing way setting up a total against Zimbabwe.
It seemed as if #MisbahUlHaq and #UmarAkmal had steadied things for them in the middle after a horrendous start.

However, #SeanWilliams produced two beauties to bowl #UmarAkmal and #ShahidAfridi in one over to tilt the scales back in Zimbabwe's favour.

#LIVE #Cricket #Score - Pak 141 for 5 in 37 overs

Misbah and Sohaib Maqsood at the crease.

CWC 2015 LIVE - Two Tons Wins It For SL v Eng

#SriLanka v #England, #Wellington
1st Mar 2015

#LahiruThirimanne overcame demons in his mind against #JamesAnderson to post a magnificent century (139*) to lead Sri Lanka to a huge win by 9 wickets.

But, the man who stole the show was veteran #KumarSangakkara with a sublime 117* from just 86 deliveries post such a convincing win against a good score of 309.

#Sanga and Thirimanne picked their spots, bowlers and timing to ensure they kept up with the #runrate at all times and panic did not set in.

English bowlers seemed hapless and hopeless against that onslaught.
Poor fielding and dropped catches didn't help matters as well.

All in all, Sri Lanka gaining the right momentum at the right time while England slumping further.
They are in a must-win situation against Bangladesh for that fourth QF spot in Pool A.

Man of the Match: Kumar Sangakarra

#LahiruThirimanne and #TilakratneDilshan have setup a century stand in their chase of 310 against England at Wellington. Chase is on....

Score 100 for 1 in 20 overs.

Earlier in the day, a fluent #JoeRoot century set England on course to a healthy 309 for 6 in 50 overs.
He was ably supported by #IanBell and #JosButler with key innings' as well.

All Sri Lankan bowlers shared the 6 wickets to fall in the England innings.

Game ON here...

CWC 2015 LIVE - India Complete Easy Win V UAE

#India v #UAE at #WACA, #Perth
28th Feb 2015

India completed a formal and professional win against minnows #UAE to remain atop Pool B at the #CWC15. They are the only unbeaten side alongside #NewZealand and #Ireland now at this World Cup edition.

Electing to bat, the UAE played like a team in immense awe of an Indian team that has taken the World Cup by storm. They were tentative, pokey and unsure of what they wanted to do really. #RavichandranAshwin capitalized on this opportunity and sliced through their batting line up with a career best 4-for-25 haul.

#RavindraJadeja claimed 2 wickets while the seamers picked one a piece.
#BhuvaneshwarKumar was slotted in place of #MohamadShami for some match practice and he seemed to hit the straps pretty well.

At one stage, UAE were 71 for 9, on course to register the first two digit team score of the world cup. But their last pair ensured they crossed the 100 run mark before folding for 102 all out in 31.2 overs.

Chasing 103 to win, Indian openers went about in the same way they have gone about in other matches -- steady. This seems to be their game plan for the tournament. #ShikharDhwan was out to a loose shot but #RohitSharma and #ViratKohli completed formalities and India won the game in 18.4 overs. A massive win that will help their #NRR just in case its needed.

India looking good to top Pool B throughout the league stages now.
UAE need to find some consistency and put on some fight against other teams they meet ahead.

Man of the Match: Ravichandran Ashwin
