CWC15 Sanga World Record Of Back To Back Tons In One Dayers

#KumarSangakarra - you champion!

He has been the story of the #CWC15 so far.
From announcing his retirement from international cricket around Aug 15 to producing one of the most amazing and consistent display of batting acumen, Sanga has done it all at this World Cup tournament.

After starting poorly against New Zealand and missing out on big opportunity against Afghanistan, he has just piled it on...

Starting with Bangladesh, followed by  England, Australia and Scotland he's scored a century in every game. The situations were different, conditions different, bowling attacks were varied but oe thing remained constant .... A #Sanga #ton!

While tons against Bangladesh and Scotland can be termed as easy ones, the one against England came when they were chasing 309 to win. He walked in at a crucial moment in the game and seized it big time to overhaul the total. Against Australia, he took to a completely new level. The Australian attack and aggression were at a much higher level than the others. But he just transcended that competition to the next level with a stunning assault on the famed Aussie quicks. Although Sri Lanka eventually lost the game, they were in it for a long time and will do them a lot of good as the #knockout stage looms....

#World #Record For Consecutive Tons in Onde dayers as well as CWC

v Bangladesh - 105* - Melbourne
v England - 117* - Wellington
v Australia - 104 - Sydney
v Sco - 124 - Hobart

Who's next?

From the draw that might shape up after the league stages, Sri Lanka will most likely meet #SouthAfrica in the quarterfinals. Will Sanga continue his form there with a 5th hundred or the SA quicks have an answer? Stay tuned.....

CWC 2015 LIVE - Two Tons Wins It For SL v Eng

#SriLanka v #England, #Wellington
1st Mar 2015

#LahiruThirimanne overcame demons in his mind against #JamesAnderson to post a magnificent century (139*) to lead Sri Lanka to a huge win by 9 wickets.

But, the man who stole the show was veteran #KumarSangakkara with a sublime 117* from just 86 deliveries post such a convincing win against a good score of 309.

#Sanga and Thirimanne picked their spots, bowlers and timing to ensure they kept up with the #runrate at all times and panic did not set in.

English bowlers seemed hapless and hopeless against that onslaught.
Poor fielding and dropped catches didn't help matters as well.

All in all, Sri Lanka gaining the right momentum at the right time while England slumping further.
They are in a must-win situation against Bangladesh for that fourth QF spot in Pool A.

CWC 2015 - SL Demolish Bangladesh To Regain Form

#SriLanka v #Bangaladesh, #MCG
26th Feb 2015

Touted as the #AsianBattle between the Lions and Tigers, the match did not live up to its expectations. SL clearly the better side and won the match comfortably by 92 runs.

#TilakratneDilshan and #KumarSangakarra stroked beautiful centuries to muster a mammoth 332 for 1 in their 50 overs. Dilshan being the more dominant partner of the two. All bowlers taken to the cleaners by these two outstanding batsmen.

The Banglas were never in the run chase really.
#TamimIqbal was bowled in the first over and they never really looked like being in the game after that. Some late order hitting by #ShakibAlHasan, #MushfiqurRahim and #SabbirRahman only delayed the inevitable for a while. #LasithMalinga came back to form with 3 wickets. Lakmal and Dilshan plucking 2 each.

An all round performance from Dilshan earned him the man of the match award.
Well done!

CWC 2015 - Kumar Sangakkarra Needs Self Belief

Kumar needs to recognise his own worth.

He has the ability to make a lasting and positive impression on all those he meets. Extremely versatile and sensitive to the feelings of others he loves harmony and likes nothing better than bringing in smiles to everyone around him.

Paradoxically however underneath his sociable and relatively normal persona he is riddled with doubts insecurities, contradictions and hidden fears. Learning to develop faith in his abilities is crucial to your success and happiness in life.

Kumar needs to believe in himself and his talents. Once he has accepted that to be human is to be complex, his destiny will point the way towards progress through the most unlikely of approaches.

Kumar Sangakkara ‘s greatest challenge is to be true to himself and the way forward is to understand that until he is true to who he is life will forever feel confusing and overwhelming.

His luck is enhanced if he could visualize what he deserves with positive expectation the way he wants to be and his behaviour will catch up with the mental image of himself, attarcting good luck in the process.

Power Thought for Kumar
“It is safe for me to look within”
